In July 2024, EcoEmpower Alliance established a groundbreaking partnership with Naturnova, a global agricultural input company with operations in Italy, Spain, and China. This partnership aims to promote sustainable farming practices in Ghana through the adoption of organic inputs such as fertilizers, fungicides, and pesticides.
To kickstart this collaboration, EEA organized a sensitization program in Botanga village, located in the Kumbungu district of Northern Ghana. The initiative engaged over 200 farmers through interactive group discussions, both at a central gathering and directly on their farms. Farmers were educated on the dangers of synthetic chemicals, the benefits of organic products for their health and the environment, and the critical need to protect soil and water resources from pollution.
The participatory approach allowed farmers to voice their concerns and ask questions, fostering a deeper understanding of sustainable agriculture. This partnership is expected to revolutionize farming practices in Ghana, enhancing environmental protection while improving the livelihoods of rural farmers. EEA remains committed to supporting communities in adopting innovative, eco-friendly practices.
